Oman Business Platform Improves Investor’s Experience

The Oman Business Platform continues to solidify its position as a key digital gateway for the investment and business environment in the Sultanate of Oman, driven by the strategic direction of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion towards streamlining procedures and achieving comprehensive digital transformation.
The latest statistical data released by the Ministry’s Information, Data and Statistics Department for the first quarter of 2026 revealed a significant shift in investor behaviour towards greater reliance on modern technologies.
Hamid bin Hamad Al-Barashdi, Assistant Director of the Customer Services Department and a member of the Digital Transformation Team at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said that the team’s efforts had led to the launch of a data correction service and a service for transferring ownership of commercial registrations through video verification via the Oman Business Platform application. Several enhancements were also introduced to the Obligations Register as part of ongoing efforts to develop digital services, simplify procedures and improve the beneficiary experience.
He noted that the improvements included introducing merger as a new option within the service process, along with setting a 30-day period for objecting to merger requests, starting from the date of the announcement. Final approval procedures for the request will be completed after the objection period expires.
Al-Barashdi stressed that these updates are part of the Ministry's efforts to streamline procedures, enhance the efficiency of digital services and improve the user experience, thereby contributing to a stronger business environment and better services for investors and business owners.
Aisha bint Abdullah Al-Wadadi, a systems analyst and member of the Ministry's digital transformation team, said that this significant transformation and the continued growth in the use of the "self-service channel" of the Oman Business Platform demonstrate the success of the Ministry's strategic vision to simplify services and facilitate procedures. She added that it clearly reflects the high level of awareness and increasing confidence among investors in the digital ecosystem. The platform, she said, is no longer merely a tool for registering and amending records, but has become a logistical partner that facilitates trade and ensures product quality. This motivates us to move forward in establishing an attractive and innovative investment environment that enhances the Sultanate of Oman's economic competitiveness and aligns perfectly with the ambitious goals of Oman Vision 2040.
