“Taheel” expands its e-services for disabled people

In a step aimed at improving social care services for people with disabilities in the Sultanate of Oman, the Ministry of Social Development has introduced a new set of digital services through the “Taheel” platform, an online platform dedicated to providing rehabilitation services for people with disabilities and their families.

The ministry announced that among the latest services offered on the platform is the ability to transfer disability cases from one rehabilitation centre to another, available from the beginning of September until 16 October 2024. The platform brings together people with disabilities and their families, government, community, and private rehabilitation centers, staff working in those centers, as well as individuals interested in establishing private rehabilitation centres.

The Ministry of Social Development also launched additional digital services on the platform, such as submitting requests for rehabilitation services, checking assessment appointments, rescheduling rehabilitation sessions, registering a child in a rehabilitation centre, and suspending a permanent or temporary rehabilitation service for a child. This technological development within the ministry’s service system contributes to providing the best possible care for people with disabilities and their families.

Parents and users can sign in to the platform through a mobile SIM card enabled with the electronic authentication system or via a smart card reader, and then proceed with applying for the available services. The platform also provides a directory of the names and locations of rehabilitation centres for people with disabilities across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
