Special conditions

• For foreign companies, the Omani partner must be licensed to practice the profession, and the foreign office must have been engaged in legal translation to and from Arabic for no less than 10 years, with a certified document from the relevant authorities as proof. The partnership between both parties must take the form of one of the commercial companies stipulated in the Commercial Companies Law, excluding joint ventures and joint-stock companies. The incorporation contract must include all legal details related to the company's name, headquarters, capital, partners’ shares, and management structure. Additionally, the Omani partner's share in the company must not be less than 35% of the capital
• The applicant must be an Omani national, at least 21 years old, legally competent, and of good reputation, with full proficiency in the Arabic language in speaking, reading, and writing. They must also hold a higher education degree from a recognized university or institute where the language of instruction is the same as the required translation language, or have specialized in that language. Additionally, they must have at least 5 years of practical experience in translation work after graduation, except for graduates of specialized translation colleges and institutes. The applicant must not have been convicted of a felony or sentenced to a freedom-restricting penalty for a crime involving dishonor or breach of trust unless they have been rehabilitated. Furthermore, they must provide a suitable location for conducting legal translation activities in accordance with the Ministry’s requirements. If the office is owned by a company, these conditions must be met by at least one of the partners
