Special conditions
- If the beneficiary was a natural person: - Must be of Omani nationality. - The museum’s owner or manager must have adequate scientific qualification, or have the required experience, knowledge and culture to appropriately provide the service
- If the beneficiary was a legal person: -Must be of Omani nationality -Must have enlisted in the commercial registry. -Must add activity no. 910201 (operating museums of all kinds) to the commercial registry.
- Construction and technical conditions: - The building must be easily accessible and equipped with necessary facilities for visitors. - The construction specifications and engineering and electrical safety precautions must align with the service (the capacity of the building). - The heritage house must be renovated or suitable to be used as a private museum. - Security and safety standards must be available, such as alarm, firefighting and emergency systems.
- Conditions and criteria for the display of the museum: -Securing and protecting the collections from natural conditions and human factors. - Displaying the collections in an organized and classified ways according to a specific pattern, and assigning an appropriate number of artifacts for each hall to ensure that the corridors are free from obstacles. - Diversifying the display methods, such as: display cabinets, murals and shelves. - Diversifying the means of display and integrating modern technology. -Preparing introductory cards for sections and collections in Arabic and English. -Using appropriate lights for display, especially the artificial one.
