Special conditions
- The license must be renewed every 2 years within a maximum period of 1 month from the date of its expiration, making sure to include any new imported radioactive sources or cancel any radioactive sources during the validity period of this license. In the event of failure to do so, the financial fines stipulated in appendix no. (3) from the Regulations for Radiation Protection and the Security and Safety of Radioactive Sources and Nuclear Materials will be applied
- This license is limited to possession and use only. A request to amend the license must be submitted to add information about newly imported or re-exported sources within a maximum period of two weeks from the shipment clearance date, along with the required documents, which include a copy of the license for the import and transport of radioactive sources, the license for re-exporting radioactive sources, the customs declaration, the bill of lading, and the receipt confirmation from the receiving country
- Expired or unused radioactive sources, devices, or containers must be returned to the manufacturer outside the Sultanate of Oman immediately after the end of their operational life or when no longer in use. A request for a re-export license must be submitted to the Authority. As for radiation generators, the operating key or the X-ray tube must be removed, along with a commitment not to dispose of them except in a safe manner and with the Authority’s approval
- A semi-annual report must be submitted to the Authority containing the results of personal dosimeter readings for radiation workers, the results of leak tests conducted using wipe tests, a record of the movement of radioactive sources, devices, or containers, the results of calibration of radiation detection devices, and radiation monitoring results at usage sites and storage facilities for radioactive sources
- Radioactive sources, devices, or containers containing them must be stored in a storage facility licensed by this Authority. As for radiation generators, they must be stored in safe places and in a correct manner
- Complying with the Law on the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control issued by Royal Decree (1002/411) and the Regulations for Radiological Protection, Security and Safety of Radiation Sources and Nuclear Materials is mandatory.
