Issuance of a Permanent Certificate of Registry for Vessels or Maritime Units Over 20 Years Old

This service aims to enable owners of marine units older than 20 years to legally register or renew their registration, whether previously registered or for the first time, subject to meeting safety requirements and all regulatory conditions. This ensures their inclusion in the national registry of ships and marine units and allows them to carry out maritime activities officially within the Sultanate and abroad.

Required documents

  • Vessel construction certificate, or sales contract in case of purchase, and deletion certificate in case of changing nationality to the Omani flag
  • Valid Insurance Certificate

  • Issue fee

    Issue fee for a temporary registration certificate.

    oman-rial 25% of the registration fee (minimum OMR 10, maximum OMR 100), based on the type and size of the vessel.

  • The applicant must be an Omani national or a resident.
  • The applicant must be the vessel owner or an authorized representative of the vessel owner.
  • The vessel must not be listed among prohibited vessels.
  • A valid marine insurance policy must be in place.
