Obtaining a Beneficiary Number from the Maliyah App

As part of the Ministry of Finance's efforts to foster partnerships between the public and private sectors, the Ministry has launched a financial services mobile application for smart devices called ‘Maliyah’, which aims to facilitate the execution of transactions for all contractors (individuals and institutions) dealing with government entities to obtain a beneficiary number.
This online service enables government contractors—including individuals, enterprises, and companies—to obtain a beneficiary number through which their payments for services or works provided to government units will be transferred.
Through the Maliyah application, users can apply for a new beneficiary number by following simple steps, starting with opening the application, selecting "Register a Commercial Institution," and entering information such as the commercial registration number, legal form, total capital, and registration grade. The system then prompts users to verify their commercial registry, after which they receive a verification code via their registered phone number to complete the registration process. Finally, a text message containing the username and password will be sent to the user.
The Maliyah app also offers additional features to streamline the workflow, including viewing beneficiary transaction requests, adding a new beneficiary, modifying bank account details, renewing an existing beneficiary number, obtaining a commitment letter, and following up on exchange bonds.
The launch of the Maliyah application represents a significant step toward supporting the digital transformation efforts pursued by the Sultanate of Oman, aligning with the Oman Vision 2040 strategy. It also strengthens cooperation between the public and private sectors in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s mission to explore government projects, financing mechanisms, and investment opportunities amid rapid regional and global economic changes that support effective decision-making.
