Shifa App, A platform to facilitate access to healthcare ser...

The Ministry of Health launched the Shifa app as part of its e-services initiative, offering a range of solutions for the medical sector. This comprehensive, centralized medical application is linked to all Ministry of Health-affiliated health institutions, enabling users to access a variety of health services. Available for download from smartphone app stores, Shifa serves both medical staff and patients.
Shifa app allows healthcare professionals to view patient data, follow-up on patient’s conditions across Ministry of Health facilities, and access medical reports. For patients, the app provides access to their health information, test results, reports, and appointment scheduling, as well as remote doctor consultations, eliminating the need for in-person visits.
The Ministry of Health is committed to advancing digital transformation in healthcare services, with plans to enhance the Shifa app by adding new features such as improved doctor-patient chat services, including the ability to share photos and voice messages, self-check-in while attending an appointment, e-payments, requesting a full report, booking blood donation appointments, and requesting help and assistance.
These e-services have significantly boosted the efficiency of the Ministry of Health's medical institutions, alleviating pressure on medical staff and reducing patients' travel and wait times. This aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which aims to digitize government services across all sectors and develop the healthcare system to meet the needs of Omani society.
