Special conditions
- Ministry of Health staff submitting a master’s or PhD research proposal can request login credentials from their respective region or directly from the MOH headquarters
- The Ministry of Health employee participating in the research must ensure that the research proposal is submitted using their own data and adheres to the approved protocol and health research guidelines issued by the Ministry’s Center for Studies and Research
- If there is no Ministry of Health employee on the research team, the researcher must get prior institutional approvals, submit a copy of the national ID card with their details via email, and then submit the proposal to the relevant research committee to get the permit
- If the study does not involve patients or Ministry of Health staff, its evaluation will be based on the collection of sensitive data from the MOH institutions. The procedures vary depending on whether a staff member is part of the research team. Requirements include obtaining institutional approvals and linking the research proposal submission to the national identity
- Non-Omani researchers or those from outside Oman seeking to conduct research in the Ministry of Health institutions must obtain written approval from the Undersecretary for Planning. They are required to appoint a qualified ministry employee as a local supervisor and submit their research proposal through this supervisor. If necessary, they should also include a recommendation letter from their parent institution
