Electronic Application for Omani citizenship
your profile: Ministry of Interior

The Ministry of Interior has digitized several services in line with Oman Vision 2040, supporting the government’s digital transformation efforts. Beneficiaries can now submit applications efficiently through the Ministry’s website and affiliated platforms.
Among the key online services is the application for obtaining Omani citizenship for foreign residents. Eligibility is assessed based on the conditions set in the Omani Nationality Law issued by Royal Decree (38/2014). Applicants must log in using an electronically activated resident card.
The application process is straightforward, starting with visiting the Ministry’s website, logging in with a resident card, navigating to the Omani citizenship application section, completing the form, and uploading the required documents before submitting the request electronically.
Following submission, the application is reviewed by the Ministry in accordance with Articles 15, 16, 17, and 18 of the Omani Nationality Law. Upon approval, the applicant pays the required fees, and a Royal Decree is issued granting citizenship. The Ministry then coordinates with relevant authorities to issue the Omani passport.
