In a step towards the digital transformation that Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is undertaking based on Oman's Vision 2040, the Ministry has launched the 'Oman Ministry of Foreign Affairs' app, aiming to be an essential traveling companion for Omanis traveling abroad or for visitors to Oman.
Designed specifically to enable users to navigate safely wherever they are, the app helps citizens traveling abroad find the nearest Omani Embassy and explains how to contact the Embassy, and if they encounter an issue, the app shows them how to get assistance. Using the app, Omanis traveling abroad can also register with the local Omani Embassy, so that the embassy can get in touch with them, if they encounter an issue in the country they are visiting.
The app is free and available in Arabic and English versions, and users can find a range of useful tips and advice whether you’re an Omani travelling abroad or a visitor to Oman. Through the Oman Foreign Ministry app, users can also stay up to date with the latest Foreign Ministry news as well as receive alerts about issues occurring in certain countries, such as security tensions, weather conditions, and epidemics.
Users of the Oman Foreign Ministry app can find social media accounts to follow the Ministry's news and activities, as well as the Ministry's website to access e-services for citizens and visitors. The app is currently available in Beta/testing version, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has allowed users to give feedback on the app by visiting the settings page and leaving a rating, as well as recording feedback.
