The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has introduced a digital identity service as part of its participation in the COMEX Global Technology Show 2024, an event that brings together public and private institutions to showcase the latest advancements in digital services and applications.

The new service enhances the use of the Royal Oman Police’s digital systems by enabling secure identity verification. Utilizing facial recognition technology and QR code scanning, the system allows individuals to verify their identity when conducting electronic transactions across government and private institutions. To ensure user privacy and security, personal data is only shared after receiving direct approval from the beneficiary, who is notified via mobile to authorize the process. Notably, the digital identity service functions without the need for an internet connection.

Once activated, the digital ID allows users to view and verify traffic violations through images attached to the system and track their details. It also facilitates the monitoring of official transactions and provides electronic access to essential documents such as the national ID card, driving license, and certificate of non-conviction.

This initiative is part of the Royal Oman Police’s ongoing efforts to enhance security for citizens, residents, and visitors while streamlining procedures and improving service quality. By integrating advanced digital solutions and artificial intelligence, the ROP continues to support the country’s digital transformation and ensure efficient, secure, and accessible public services.
