Request for License to Breed Ornamental Fish in Freshwater
This service enables individuals and companies interested in setting up ornamental fish farms (cultivation and hatching) in rural areas to get a license to do so, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Ministerial Decree No. 177/2012 on Aquaculture and Quality Control.

Special conditions
- The license for integrated freshwater ornamental fish farming will be issued after the completion of construction works at the fish farm
- The use of any drugs, hormones or feed additives without prior permission is prohibited
- Fish food must be stored properly and safely
- It is prohibited to spray chemical pesticides and medicines on trees near the fish farm, as well as not to use agricultural tools used for this purpose
- The licensee shall be committed to the records of the fish farm which the Ministry will allocate to him and submit them to the specialists when visiting the farm
- Allowing technicians, specialists and researchers in the Ministry to inspect the farm and collect data in order to develop fish production
- The licensee is obligated to allow specialists to take samples of fish upon harvest for analysis and study
- The licensee is committed to the quality of fish during harvesting and marketing and to the standards specified by the Ministry in order to ensure quality
- The licensee shall abide by the provisions of the fish breeding and Quality Control Regulations for farmed Fish issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (177/2012)
- Freshwater fish are cultured in an integrated system of freshwater ornamental fish with agricultural crops.
- The area of the aquaculture farm should not exceed more than 10% of the total area of the farm
- The farm area should not be less than 3 acres
- The fish farm owner must adhere to the water quality standards set by the Ministry
- The farmer must have an adequate source of groundwater to use in fish farming
- Fish wastewater should be used to irrigate the area allocated for crops and trees and should not be used in excess so as not to waste it
- It is prohibited to drain excess fish farm water into the sewage system or low-lying lands
- It is prohibited to introduce new species for the purpose of cultivation without obtaining prior permission from the competent authorities
