The Ministry of Energy and Minerals, in cooperation with oil and gas operators, has launched a unified supplier registration system in the Sultanate of Oman, as part of the In-Country Value initiative that seeks to link suppliers to procurement opportunities in the oil and gas sector and other sectors.

Suppliers wishing to participate in the system are required to obtain a JSRS certificate by visiting the BGI website. The company provides the certificate based on the standards imposed by the oil and gas sector in the Sultanate of Oman, including online document auditing, and a field visit from a specialized team to resident suppliers as part of the audit process.

Then, the certificate fees are paid through the online payment portal. The company profile is created and products and services are added, after which the audit profile goes through the first stage, and upon passing the first stage, the supplier submits an application for the second stage. If successful, the supplier will receive the certificate.

The unified system creates a database of thousands of suppliers, including small and medium enterprises, Omanis, and local community contractors, offering equal opportunities and promoting transparency in strategic projects. This is a crucial step towards achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to support Omani entrepreneurs.
