The Tax Authority in Oman has included on its website a VAT Registration Application for persons holding commercial registration numbers, in order to simplify the registration steps, and in line with the Authority's objectives in regulating the tax system, ensuring integrity, and adherence to the tax regulations.
When you first open the Tax Authority's website, you will need to log in through the phone number activated by electronic authentication, or through the ID card using the card reader, then head to E-Services, and select the registration of a taxpayer. After that, enter the commercial registration number, which will take you to a pop-up window to select the type of registration, and choose VAT liability registration, then proceed to the registration page, which will require a number of data to be entered correctly. Once completed, select Register New Activity.
When registering a new activity, it will also ask for some data, including: Type of activity, date of practice, and date of expiration, and you must click on the Add and Close option when you finish filling out the data and then it will direct you to another important page to fill out data, such as: Annual Supply Price and Tax Year. It will be saved as a draft, and then you go to the attachment box where it asks you to upload some documents, such as: A copy of your ID or passport, and a copy of the commercial register.
You can then easily submit the application and receive the tax certificate document, which can be printed directly. These steps are available in both Arabic and English and work smoothly and easily, providing a quality experience for users. This reflects the Authority's efforts to improve its services and keep up with the latest technology in the process of monitoring, organizing, and following up.
