E-authentication (PKI) is the process of verifying a user's identity to enable them to log into governmental websites and complete transactions without the need to visit the service provider's headquarters.
You can activate PKI using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Using ID or Resident Car
- Go to the nearest Civil Status Centre of Royal Oman Police to set your PIN
- Choose your PIN
- Sign into the governmental website by inserting your card into the card reader device and entering your password.
If your PIN is forgotten or blocked; Go to a Civil Status Centre for reactivation.
Method 2: Using a SIM card that supports PKI
Activate your card through “Service Activation and Reactivation via Phone” at PKI portal (TAM), after ensuring the availability of:
- Active ID Card
- A SIM card connected to your ID card
- SIM card that supports PKI. If it does not, replace it at a service provider’s store (Omantel or Ooredoo)
- Card reader device
- A browser supporting card reader device
- A Software such as (SConnect) that enables the card reader device to run in the browser, ensuring a more secure digital transaction.
