About the Council

The Supreme Judicial Council is a government institution responsible for overseeing and managing the judicial affairs in the Sultanate of Oman. Its core mission is to uphold judicial independence, reinforce the rule of law, and ensure the efficient operation and development of the courts, public prosecution, and notary public services. The Council also plays a key role in proposing draft laws and legislation related to the judiciary, ensuring a robust legal framework for the country.
