The Ministry of Information launched the Ayn Digital Platform on January 11, 2022, coinciding with the anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Accession Day. Reflecting a form of development and progress towards the digitization of services, Ayn is the largest local visual and audio content platform in terms of diversity and technical features.

The platform includes a wide range of digital audiovisual content, including radio and television channels, exclusive content and audiobooks, with the aim of enriching Arabic and Omani content. It also includes a special library that contains the speeches of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, official visits and the latest news. This content is constantly renewed; to keep the audience up-to-date with latest developments.

The platform also includes content dedicated to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur, documenting a career full of giving and development in the era of the Renaissance. The viewer can find speeches, official visits, tours, military events and national celebrations, as well as exclusive content that has not been previously published on Oman TV. These efforts aim to immortalize the memory of the late Sultan in audio and video for all generations, in addition to gathering contemporary political history on a national platform.

 

The platform is dedicated to providing content aimed at all members of society, including children, youth and adults. It has produced cartoon and educational programs for children and has also provided the opportunity to cooperate with children's content creators to produce content that supports their skills and talents. It also has an old cartoon series under the name “Cartoon Zamn Altaybeen”. The viewer can also find various recorded programs covering culture, arts, sports, technology, cooking, history and others.

 

The viewer will also find a variety of talk shows, in which personalities share their experience and knowledge in many aspects, ranging from modern programs to programs produced by the Sultanate of Oman TV and radio over the years, all categorized into podcasts, radio shows and radio talk shows. It is worth noting that the platform also contains sign language content , demonstrating a keen interest in all members of society. The platform has also established a library for Omani literary productions, of up to 50 titles, ranging from religious sciences, novels, history, poetry, stories, and others, recorded in audio in cooperation with the most famous media voices to provide the best user experience for the listener.

 

The fun does not stop there, as the platform has taken care of many young Omani talents and dedicated a space for photographers, which you can find under the title “Adasa”, and it includes several professional names that document the different aspects of the Omani identity, including nature, heritage, food, historical symbols, and others.

 

The platform also sought to adopt filmmakers by holding the Ayn Short Film Festival in 2024, with prizes amounting to more than 42,000 Omani Riyals.The platform also launched the Ayn Gaming Hackathon with an Omani identity as part of its participation in COMEX, with the aim of approaching young game creators and programmers, in addition to promoting digital industries in the field of electronic games.

 

You  can download the platform application on your mobile phone and tablets, and you can also browse it from computer screens and smart TVs, where you have access to recorded content and live broadcasts of eight radio and TV channels. All these features emphasize the hard work put in by the Ministry of Information in providing the best experience for the audience, in a manner that reflects the position of Omani media.

It is worth mentioning that Ayn platform won the ESCWA (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) award for the best Arabic digital content during the Arab Forum 2024, in recognition of its efforts to raise awareness of sustainable development issues. It also won the Artificial Intelligence Economics Award by employing AI tools to improve the user experience in Ayn platform.
