Electronic Transfer of Vehicle Records in the Sultanate of O...
your profile: Royal Oman Police

The Royal Oman Police has introduced an electronic vehicle transfer service to simplify and accelerate the ownership transfer process for citizens and residents. This initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, supporting the Sultanate’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
Beneficiaries can access the service through the Royal Oman Police website by navigating to the "Our Services" page, where they will find a list of available services, including the option for electronic vehicle transfer. This service enables individuals to transfer vehicle ownership, including the number plate, from one person to another for a fee of 5 riyals.
To complete the transfer, users must log in via the ROP website or the dedicated mobile application, ensuring that electronic authentication is activated. Individuals can then select the vehicle transfer option, while commercial entities must enter the vehicle plate number and code. The process requires selecting a phone number to receive a verification code before proceeding. Once the identity of the new owner is confirmed, the seller initiates the transaction, signs it, and notifies the buyer to sign as well. Payment must be made within 24 hours of submitting the request.
The service is subject to specific conditions depending on the beneficiary. Individuals can transfer private vehicles, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles, whereas commercial establishments are restricted to transferring commercial vehicles. Additionally, individuals must be registered as authorized signatories in the commercial register with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion. The vehicle license must be valid, vehicles requiring inspection must pass a technical check, and insurance transfer must be completed through approved providers.
This service enhances security for both sellers and buyers while significantly reducing transaction time compared to traditional methods. The Royal Oman Police continues to advance its electronic services to meet the evolving needs and expectations of citizens and residents.
