Companies interested in practicing integrated fish farming can apply for a fish farming license. The application is submitted electronically to obtain the license, which is issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The application is submitted through the Invest Easy platform or Sanad offices, and it takes 120 days to issue it with a service fee of OMR 100, where a number of necessary documents must be attached to the application, namely: A copy of the land ownership certificate (mulkiya) or a valid lease agreement, agricultural land tenure card, a copy of the survey drawing of the land, a blueprint of the proposed facility, a certified water analysis certificate, an economic feasibility study for the project, and a letter of no objection to practicing integrative farming activity from the Department of Agricultural Development in the region.
The application goes through three stages, starting with filling out the form on the invest easy portal, then the technical committee for fish farming examines the application and makes a decision on it, and the approval is announced online in the portal in an easy way for beneficiaries, and then the required license is obtained after completing the construction work on the fish farm.
There are certain requirements set by the Ministry to implement this project, such as the farming of freshwater fish in an integrated system of agricultural crops, adhering to the water quality standards set by the Ministry, properly preserving fish food, having a sufficient groundwater source to be used for farming, and prohibiting the use of drugs, pesticides, or feed additives without obtaining a prior license from the concerned authorities.
This service is one of dozens of e-services that the Ministry is now providing as an electronic service, which can be found on the Ministry's website under the name (e-services), in an effort to facilitate and schedule transactions in a better way, as well as provide clear follow-up to customers and employees, which contributes to the provision of quality services and the preservation of data by means of digitalization.
