Implementing the Royal Directives, the Oman Investment Authority has launched a fund to finance local projects and investors in the Sultanate of Oman, called "Future Fund Oman", to be a major enabler for stimulating the national economy and a reliable partner for local and international investors.
The fund receives financing requests electronically, which go through three stages, starting with registering an account in the investor portal on Oman Investment Authority website, where an individual or company account can be registered. Next, applicants fill out the investment opportunities form to complete the application submission process, after which the form is referred to the specialized team for consideration. After this, the application becomes under consideration. The application will then undergo review and analysis for up to three months, during which the applicant will be notified of its status.
Future Fund Oman covers many types of projects and investments in the Sultanate of Oman, including: direct local projects, small and medium enterprises, and start-ups, which can be financed based on specific criteria specified by the Fund on its website on the "Application and Conditions" page, to complement the financing and investment coverage system currently provided by the government through several institutions such as: Oman Development Bank, the Small and Medium Enterprises Portfolio, Rakiza Fund, and the Oman Technology Fund. The Fund offers flexibility in determining the type of contributions to the selected investments, whether through direct financing at market cost, or in partnership with the private sector in capital, targeting different sectors, including industries and production, tourism, mining, ports, logistics services, fisheries, agriculture, information technology, communications, and green energy, so that funding is distributed in a balanced manner without focusing on a specific sector.
The Future Fund Oman is one of the most important achievements of the Oman Investment Authority, which injects an amount of 2 billion Omani riyals over 5 years under the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
