Renewing the Driving License Electronically
your profile: Royal Oman Police

Royal Oman Police has introduced an electronic service for renewing driving licences for citizens and residents, as part of its efforts to develop its digital services, offering an easy and quick process that eliminates the need to visit the service headquarters during official working hours.
To submit the renewal request, the beneficiary can use the Royal Oman Police smartphone application, ensuring that electronic authentication is activated. Alternatively, users can log in to the ROP website, where a card reader is required to authenticate the transaction. After logging in, the service fees, which vary depending on the type of license, can be paid directly. The ROP issues five categories of licenses: light, temporary, heavy, equipment, and bicycle licenses. Some categories, such as the heavy license and equipment license, require professional compliance to be eligible for renewal.Once payment is complete, the beneficiary receives a receipt via the electronic payment gateway. The next step is to visit the nearest service center to print the renewed driving license and collect it.
There are certain conditions to consider before applying for the electronic driving license renewal service. The license holder must be within the Sultanate of Oman and have completed the eye examination procedures from the centers approved by the Royal Oman Police. The results are sent by the examining center electronically, with the license holder's record free of violations and fines and the expiry date of the vehicle record must not be expired for over one year. The service is only available for licenses issued by the Royal Oman Police.
The Royal Oman Police’s electronic services contribute significantly to reducing the workload on service centers, speeding up the transaction process while improving service quality. This aligns with the government's goals for digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman.
